FunKino – Across Walls brings the “FunKino” methodology inside prisons.
The project was carried out in Palermo between 2022 and 2025 together with a group of convicts from the “Calogero di Bona – Ucciardone” prison and a group of “externals” to the prison, constituted by young people resident in Palermo.
Participants were involved in a series of practical and theoretical laboratories on participatory storytelling, addressing various themes in an original way: the relationship between prison and external society, destiny and life choices, the search for redemption, judgment, punishment, suicide.
The stories and reflections of the participants inspired the birth of the subject of the short film Siamo a’mmare | 2024.
In April 2025, the project was presented as a good practice in an institutional event within the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
